Sivan 7 – The glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai…

Sivan 7, 5784; from sunset June 12, 2024, to sunset June 13, 2024

This is the name “Mosheh” (מֺשֶׁה – Moses) as seen in the Dead Sea Scrolls, written over two thousand years ago.

Today in the Bible, according to tradition, Moses made his ascent on Mount Sinai, where he received the rest of the Torah.  However, the text states that Moses had a waiting period – he was on the mountain for the next six days and the mountain was covered by a cloud.

When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai.  For six days the cloud covered the mountain… – Exodus 24:15-16a (NIV)

We hope you’ll join us again next week when we talk more about the waiting period and what it might mean.
