Nisan 14, 5785; from sunset April 11, 2025, to sunset April 12, 2025
(The fourteenth day of the first month)

This is the name “Yeshua” (יֵשׁוּעַ – Jesus) as seen on the James Ossuary. Yeshua comes from the verb “yasha” meaning “to save or deliver.” Yeshua means “Salvation.”
We have been following Jesus on His way to the cross, and now He has arrived. The text tells us that He was crucified at the third hour. This was the hour that the morning lamb was sacrificed in the Temple. It’s no coincidence that Mark pointed out the time that Jesus was first placed upon the cross. He wanted us to catch the picture. We’ve scheduled our post to coincide with the third hour, roughly 9 am, in the Central US time zone.
And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. – Mark 15:22
There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. – Luke 23:32
So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with the transgressors.” – Mark 15:28
…they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink. – Matthew 27:34
…there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” – Luke 23:33-34
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: “They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things. – John 19:23-24
Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. – Mark 15:25
Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. – Matthew 27:36
Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, `The King of the Jews,’ but, `He said, “I am the King of the Jews.“‘”
Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.” – John 19:19-22
And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” – Matthew 27:39-40
…even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” – Luke 23:35
