Tishrei 15 – Sukkot, Day 1 – The Offerings

Tishrei 15, 5786; from sunset October 6, 2025, to sunset October 7, 2025

(The fifteenth day of the seventh month)

Today in the Bible, we want to remember the animals that were sacrificed to the LORD. Though it may be hard for us to understand in our day, they were an integral part of God’s self-prescribed worship system. Their lives were dedicated to the LORD.

Bring Your Offerings

In the 29th chapter of Numbers, God reveals a listing of sacrifices for observing His Holy Days. Below are the requirements for the first day of Sukkot. Each day throughout Sukkot, we’ll remember the animals and the grain and drink offerings presented unto the LORD.

`On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation.  You shall do no customary work, and you shall keep a feast to the LORD seven days.

`You shall present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire as a sweet aroma to the LORD:  thirteen young bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year. They shall be without blemish.  Their grain offering shall be of fine flour mixed with oil:  three-tenths of an ephah for each of the thirteen bulls, two-tenths for each of the two rams, and one-tenth for each of the fourteen lambs; also one kid of the goats as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering. – Numbers 29:12-16 (NKJ)
