(The twenty-first day of the seventh month)
Bring Your Offerings
In the 29th chapter of Numbers, God reveals a listing of offerings for observing His Holy Days. The offerings for the Feast of Sukkot are, by far, the most extensive. In this series, each day we’ll focus on a different facet of the offerings. Today, we’ll wrap up the significance of the offerings as a whole and the culmination of the LORD’s self-proclaimed holy days.
As we have learned over the last week, each of the offerings presented to the LORD during the Feast of Tabernacles carries its own symbolism. As a whole they represent our obedience to His covenant and His response to our obedience. They include offerings for sin, consecration, purification, intercession, restoration, celebration, and provision. It’s all a part of God’s original plan to dwell with His people and a culmination of the work that Jesus has done/will do on our behalf — everything that is needed to restore that relationship and bring us to the visions given to John in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
We can celebrate this Feast with joy and anticipation on an annual basis — looking forward to the day when it’s brought to its ultimate fruition — and our God once again tabernacles among His people — wiping away every tear. No more death. No more sorrow. No more crying. No more pain. All things are made new.
Below are the requirements for the seventh day of Sukkot.
On the seventh day present seven bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year without blemish, and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the ordinance; also one goat as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering. – Numbers 29:32-34 (NKJ
